Basic Birch Haven Rental Notes:

RENTAL AGREEMENT: You must sign the "Birch Haven Rental Agreement" when you arrive. Refer to the "Birch Haven Rental Use Guide" for more information. You may pay for the balance of your stay when you arrive or when you leave. Cash or personal check can be used.

CHECK IN/OUT: Check-in is after 4 PM or later, check-out is before 10 AM or before. A charge may apply for early check-in or late check-out.

NO SMOKING: Please, for the benefit of our non-smoking guests. Please smoke outside and dispose of your trash appropriately.

NO SOLIDS: Please do not put any solids down the drain or in the toilet, as they can plug up the septic system!

TRASH and RECYCLING: Recycle cans are provided for paper and plastic/cans/etc. There are larger cans just outside (behind or in garage) which will be emptied on a regular basis during your stay.

SPEEDING: There are kids, dogs, cats, wildlife, and other residents around, please drive 15 MPH or less when coming or going!!

SECOND FRIDGE: There is a second fridge in the garage, great for bait, beer, pop or overflow from the main kitchen. Let me know if you want me to plug it in!

FISH CLEANING: A fish cleaning table is available at your request. Please put fish remains in a new garbage bag (please do not use a plastic shopping bag, because they leak) then double bag and seal it before placing them in the garbage. Please wash up the mess outside for the next fisherman.

Birch Haven Rental Payment Policies:

RETURNED CHECKS
will result in a $35 collection fee, in addition to any other collection costs.

A DEPOSIT OF $200 is required to reserve Wabana for any stay. If your stay costs less than $200 a 75% advance is required. The cabin can be reserved for up to two weeks without a deposit. The balance of your stay and any ala-carte charges are due on the last day or your stay.

RESERVE Birch Haven up to 12 months in advance. Clients will have two weeks after any stay to renew their reservations for the same time period the following year and place a deposit. If a deposit is not received by then the cabin will be made available for other clients. Reservations for the next calendar year are subject to annual price changes which will be available in December of each year for the next calendar year. If you would like the same time slot next year, we suggest you make reservations and make a deposit before you leave.

DAY VISITORS TO Birch Haven Rental are free for up to the maximum occupancy of the cabin (12). An overnight stay for a guest is $15.00 per person per night. Note a single guest stay of more than two nights will result in the next higher rate for the entire group.

HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES are not provided during your stay. Housekeeping will be provided on a daily or variable basis for a nominal fee, and include making beds, emptying the trash, laundering towels, doing dishes, sweeping/vacuuming, and picking up/straightening the cabin. Costs for daily cleaning is $25 (about 1.5-2 hours required), or $50 for a mid-week cabin cleaning (about 2-3 hours required). Additional cleaning options (such as guest laundry or fresh linen) are available for a nominal fee at your request.

EARLY CHECK-IN AND LATE CHECK-OUT: may be possible under certain conditions. A charge may apply depending on the situation.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellation of your stay less than one month before your arrival will result in a 50% refund of your deposit. Cancellation of your stay within 14 days of your arrival date will result in a 25% refund of your deposit. Cancellation less than 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival will result in no refund of your deposit. Shortening your stay after your arrive will result in a 50% charge for cancelled nights.

Other Rules, Notes, and Pointers:

WINTERTIME RULES
: Please keep off the septic mounds. Packing the snow in any way on the mounds can result in a frozen septic system. Also, if there is snow we may ask you to move your vehicles once or twice to take care of it!

ICE SKATING: We'll do the best we can to keep a decent rink open and halfway smooth. Please try to avoid it with snowmobiles.

FIRES: Please keep the following rules in mind when using the fire pit:

1. Keep the fire in the fire pit.
2. No foraging for wood.
3. No burning trash or other objects like cans or bottles.
4. Burning bans must be followed if in effect.
5. Please be careful!!

PETS: Your pets are welcome at Birch Haven Rental, we just ask you follow some simple guidelines:

1. Make sure your pet's vaccinations are up to date. It's a great idea to put a copy of your pet's health records in your car so they are available if needed.
2. DO NOT leave your pet unattended in the house under ANY circumstances. A crate is provided if you need to leave your pet behind for part of the day, or other arrangements can be made at your request. If you need another crate let us know. We love to pet-sit!
3. We strongly recommend leashes be used at all times.
4. Please pick up after your pet if possible. A shovel and bucket are available if required.
5. No matter how hard we try, accidents happen. If your pet has an accident in the house, please let us know so we can clean the spot appropriately before our next guest arrives. Spot cleaner can be found under the kitchen sink in the meantime.
6. A tie-out line or chain can be provided upon request.
7. Please respect our pets, and watch out for them. We have three dogs and three cats, and try as we may, they sometimes visit without us. We'd like to meet your pets!! Please bring them over to say hello!!

BOATS: Life vests are provided free of charge, and anchors are available as well. Life vests REQUIRED for all users under 18 years old. A signed Rental Agreement is required before any Wabana equipment can be used. Boat/motor pairs can be changed upon request (ie, put the electric motor on the 14' boat). No night operation is permitted. Training and familiarization with all equipment is required prior to use!!

Local Attractions - Please refer to the coupon books on the bay window ledge for savings at just about every place in town!! Please leave them for the next guests when you depart.
